The New York Times Travel said hey Narayan, how would you like to go and shoot this travel story up in the UP. I said Hell yeah! Turns out this story was written by some old writer named Jim Harrison that's only written like a billion best selling books and is a general badass… General Badass, that would be a cool name... anyways, yeah, no pressure. And oh yeah, it's just about the feeling of the place, not necessarily the people and specific places. I only drove 1245 miles around the freezing cold and snowy Michigan Upper Peninsula and spoke to nearly no one. It's a pretty empty area but really pretty. It was a lonely trip. I listen to a Haim album about 32 times.
